Now that the city ordinance on RPZs (Restricted Parking Zone) has been revised and implemented, your board is in the process of gaining signatures to implement a “gameday” parking restriction in University Park.  Historically, our neighborhood is inundated with “gameday” parked cars which has a major impact on residential parking.  Beginning with the October community meeting, we will be getting signatures probably followed by door to door requests for more signatures, as needed, to be submitted to SDOT.  SDOT will the begin the administrative process within the communiy for what we hope will be a change to having gameday parking restrictions similar to longstanding restrictions in Montlake and Laurelhurst.  If approved this will be implemented for the 2011 UW football season.
